Inside St Mary's Church, Whaddon

Whaddon, Inside St Mary's Church

The church has late Norman arcades of slightly differing periods. Much was rebuilt and extended in the 14th century and of course done over in the 19th century.

Also of interest inside the church are:-

A pillar in the north arcade with a capital showing "two peacocks quarrelling over the same morsel".

The organ donated to the church by the Colman (Mustard) family.

A kneeling brass of 1612 to Margaret Myssenden).

A 16th century tomb chest in the large north chapel also has a large family brass on its back wall (no photo)
