Inside St Peter's Church, Brimpton
Features polished Granite piers to the arcades, and extra ornamentation around the chancel arch. No tower arch, but the door opens to reveal that the south wall of the tower has different masonry and a blocked round-arched window. Indeed at the west end of the church is an old sketch showing a similar-in-plan church but with a Classical detailed tower (similar to the Worcester towers - e.g. All Saints). Two monuments also here out of sight to most, underneath the tower. (Commentary provided by Phil Draper) |
