Heathy Lea Cottage, Baslow

Baslow, Heathy Lea Cottage

This is the cottage attached to the former Corn Mill at Heathy Lea, built by Robert MARPLES (1831-1921 - half 3rd cousin twice removed of the submitter, Rodney Marples). The chap in the mac is Robert's great-grandson Frank FLINT, a life long Baslow resident who sadly died at the cottage in 1999.

The Corn Mill was powered by a water wheel, and later became a Saw Mill. It was subsequently taken over by the Water Board and is now a pumping station.
