All Saints Church, Breadsall

Breadsall, All Saints Church

This is an early church, the tower being 13th century and the tall steeple added in the 14th century. The Church was badly damaged by fire in 1914 after an arson attack carried out by suffragettes.

Restoration work was done in 1915, resulting in the new roof being built lower than the original, though the evidence for the original can be still be seen on the wall of the tower.

The Old Hall, also medieval, stands opposite the Church on the road leading to Breadsall Priory.

There was a Wesleyan Chapel in Breadsall village, which is now a private residence.
