The Old Bridge, Calver

This photograph shows what is now the ‘old’ (humped) Calver Bridge near Curbar Church. Calver Mill is to the left of the photograph (on the Calver side of the river) and The ‘Bridge Inn’ to the right, in Curbar. Curbar village is up on the hillside above the Bridge, but is barely visible in the pale winter sunlight. The shot is taken whilst standing on the ‘new’ bridge which carries the main A623 trunk road out of Calver (on the left) towards Baslow.
