View from the Edge, Curbar
Here is a view from the far point of Froggatt Edge, overlooking Curbar, and Calver villages. The road in the foreground is a minor one which passes through ‘Curbar Gap’ (to the left of this photograph), a naturally occuring 'missing tooth' along the gritstone escarpment which stretches from the Derwent moors in the north, to Baslow in the south. In the car park by the side of the road, to the left of the large white camper van, is a small golden Mini ‘1275-GT’, which belonged to ‘Im Indoors’ in his ‘Boy Racer’ days. Well, it's nice to look back on such things, isn't it?! (Commentary provided by Rosemary Lockie) |
