Old Postcard of Bole Hill Quarry (2), Grindleford

Grindleford, Bole Hill Quarry (2)

Scene dated circa 1904. A scene by the winding drum. On its right are two locomotives standing back-to-back, and to the left a posed group of three workers, behind which is the cutting that led to the marshalling area for the trucks, where stone would have been loaded after being dressed. In the far distance is the outline of Millstone Edge Quarry.

This photograph is an accompaniment to an account of Bole Hill Quarry provided by Alan Jacques.
