Hathersage, View from Millstone Edge

The village of Hathersage is over to the right beyond the rocks and moorland. The ancient packhourse route known as ‘Hollow Gate’ can be seen in the middle distance (just below the branches of the overhanging tree on the left). This trackway crosses the Longshaw Estate and the existing B6521, arriving here from Chesterfield via Froggatt Pole and Lady's Cross. Near this place it forded the Burbage Brook, reaching Hathersage after crossing the Derwent at Leadmill Bridge.
