Pictures of the Past : Old Bleach Mill, Little Eaton

This card was posted home to Australia in September 1909 by Phil's grandfather - he was in the UK for 18 months during the period 1909/10 studying at the Royal College of Music in London. The message on the back says:

“ This is a picture of the old bleach mill. The mill wheel is still working, though work has ceased for a long time.”

His interest in Little Eaton is believed to be relating to his grandmother, Sarah Webster, who was born in Little Eaton in about 1824. Ann Andrews' account accompanying one of his own photographs of the Museum Parade & The Pitchings, Matlock Bath provides further biographical information.
