Thornhill Vault, Peak Forest
There is a large apparently blank gravestone outside the railing on which it says “Entrance to Mr Thornhill's Vault”; and carved into the wall above it are the words “2 empty spaces”... To get an idea of the scale of the Vault, Sue, standing beside the railings is just 5 feet tall (1.5m)! Transcriptions of the Memorial Inscriptions are available on a separate webpage.
