Sacred to the Memory of Thomas ROOSE of Birchover, who departed this life July 15, 1816 aged 43 years Also Lydia, wife of the above Thomas ROOSE, who died March 30th 1822 aged 48 years Also Jonathon son of the above, died September 11th 1812 aged 1 year. [Submitter's Note: This grave is located on the south side of the church, almost at the wall on the west side of the graveyard. There are other ROOSE graves in the immediate vicinity. Thomas and Lydia were the parents of Sarah ROOSE who became the wife of Horatio NELSON, Pork Butcher of Bakewell. Sarah died in 1888 and is buried in Bakewell Municipal Cemetery]
