This monument was erected by a relative of the late Richard WOOD
of the City of Gloucefter [Gloucester] who had lived many years in terms of the fticteft [strictest]
friendship with the above excellent divine and always enterained the higheft

as Vicar of Ashleworth was first recorded in 1724, and his appointment as Vicar of
Corse in 1727 - both during the jurisdiction of Bishop Joseph WILCOCKS, who was
Bishop of Gloucester, 1721-1731 - ex.
