St Mary's Church (Thanatos), Wotton under Edge
Spied over the south doorway is another classy monument showing Thanatos (brother of Hypnos) who in Greek Literature was the “Personification of Death” which in this case is a near naked youth slouching against an urn, a monument to the Rev William Taswell d.1775.
