Bosbury, Richard Harford Monument (1578)


This Monument is to Richard HARFORD (d.1578) and his wife Marion (d.1601). Pevsner obviously doesn't like this memorial at all He calls the figures on the pediments “uncouth”, although admits the monument is attractive in its naivety. I beg to differ, and prefer it to that of Richard's father John, on the opposite wall of the Chancel, which though much plainer, appeals more to Pevsner's taste.
