Inside St Catherine's Church (West), Hoarwithy
Looking towards the west end of the church, the smallest stained glass window in the apex is the “Angel of Doom”, by Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris. Below it are stained glass lights representing the Archangels, whilst those on the lowest level represent Prophets of the Old Testament. The hanging lamps were made in Italy, purchased via an Italian Exhibition in London. They are copies of ones in St Mark's Cathedral in Venice, and were intended originally to have wicks floating in oil, but were later ‘upgraded’ to use paraffin.
