St Catherine's Church (Graveyard), Hoarwithy
Here is a “Monkey Puzzle” tree. Monkey Puzzles belong to an era. They were introduced to Britain during Victorian times, and were planted as tiny shrubs as the decorative centrepiece in a formal garden. They were not expected to grow so big - becoming variously a joke, or an embarrassment!? However I think they look rather elegant and attractive! (Commentary provided by Rosemary Lockie) |
