Pictures of the Past : The Fair Ground, Southport

Southport, Old Postcard or Photograph of The Fair Ground

The source for this image is a old postcard, undated, but appearance suggests it is likely to be early 20thC. The correspondence appears to be in one of my aunt's handwriting, and reads:

‘I received your letters & was very pleased to hear from you, As near as I can say we...’

It is addressed to Mrs Reeves, Goatscliffe, Grindleford, Nr Sheffield (my grandmother) and the message appears to be unfinished. At any rate, it was never posted!

One of the postcards from ‘The Reeves Collection’.
In other words, it belonged to my mother.
