St Basil's Church, Bassaleg
Another notably long church, but here with a south aisle and a north chapel to the chancel. The tower is of some antiquity, the rest a mixture of Tudor, Georgian and Victorian work. The Morgans of Tredegar House have the mortuary chapel, a sort of north transept with an eastern chapel extension by Caroe having a fancy arcade to the chancel. The monuments are not quite as grand as their house. A whole host of hatchments too. This view is from the south. A photograph of Inside St Basil's Church is also available.
