Inside Holy Trinity Church, Hinton in the Hedges
Much of interest inside the rather ordinary church - two 14th century effigies lie along the north aisle wall, a large Royal Arms of Queen Anne, dated 1707, a medieval screen, Jacobean pulpit, and two small pieces of late 14th century Stained Glass of a King and Queen. Some ordinary 17th and 18th century memorials, including one to the surprisingly named Salathiell Crewe d.1686. The eponymous Crewe Arms failed to serve us food, so we went on to the next village, Marston St Lawrence, and the Marston Inn for lunch... (Commentary provided by Phil Draper) |
