St Helen's Church, Berrick Salome

Berrick Salome, St Helen's Church

This church is described with the opening words “Restored 1890 by A M Mowbray - a hideous application of all the trappings of fashionable late 19th century domestic architecture to a church.” in the Buildings of England. However we all liked it; and despite this “doing over” several old features survive, in fact much seems to be of the early 17th century.
