Inside St Andrew's Church, Bramfield

Bramfield, Inside St Andrew's Church

It is the fittings that make Bramfield memorable. A small stage was erected west of the splendid early 16th century screen which preserves medieval colouring and five of its painted saints on the dado. In the nave's north wall is a recess with a wall painting showing four angels and the outline of a former cross.

There are three monuments in the chancel, one to Bridgett Applewhait, who was “killed by an apoplectick dart”... On the north wall is a black and white marble memorial to Arthur Coke (d.1629)
