St Andrew's Church (Coke Memorial), Bramfield

Bramfield, St Andrew's Church (Coke Memorial)

On the north wall of the chancel in a shallow recess is a black and white marble memorial to Arthur Coke d.1629; his wife lies on the tomb chest below (d.1627) clutching a baby having died in childbirth - one of the most wonderful effigies of its time in England. I also liked the ornate sanctuary - late Victorian or early Edwardian although the angle piscina look original 14th century.
