Inside St Peter's Church, Bruisyard
The font is cute with a bowl with shield on a stem against which four cute lions sit up stiffly, and the pulpit and tester are plain 18th century work. A little more fanciful are the low screen with balusters, the former communion rails I guess. In the floor of the vestry matrices of lost brasses and on its wall the odd engraving of the Ten Commandments dated 1794. The Victorian work is evident in the chancel east wall, window, reredos and new communion rails, unoffensive as at Cransford. (Commentary provided by Phil Draper) |
