Clare, Inside SS Peter & Paul's Church

The interior came as a surprise, lofty, spacious with arcades that seem super-slim, as they reuse piers from an earlier church and set them on tall thicker bases and have them carrying thicker arches and capitals. The arches are decorated with fleurons and I was really impressed by it.

Contents-wise if you are into knick-knacks from the sizeable gift shop in the north aisle you will have a great visit here; otherwise be satisfied with quirky 17th century choir stalls, 15th century screens and font and a 16th century brass eagle lectern.
