St Andrew's Church (Within), Covehithe
When I was ten I received a present of a book “British Churches” - a Dutton Vista pictureback. The cover features this church and I can remember staring at it for long periods, as even then I found church ruins romantic and moving. Here is a church within a church and if I had only one choice of a place to visit on my Suffolk weekend then this would have been it. My only regret is that I didn't walk a bit to the east to see the North Sea... will this grand ruin ultimately slip into the sea, as suggested by Simon Knott, on his Suffolk Churches website?
