Inside St Mary's Church, Earl Soham

Earl Soham, Inside St Mary's Church

I was welcomed in the church, which is usually open for visitors. It is fairly standard in form, tall west tower, south porch and aisleless nave - all Perpendicular; and a lower Decorated chancel. The 15th century font is less damaged than many, with lions and angels. The Jacobean pulpit is tall and slim. with a back plate and loftily-sited tester. Pews with several entertaining carvings, but whether they are to be entirely trusted as original work I don't know.
