St Andrew's Church, Great Finborough
St Andrew at Great Finborough has a situation to be envied, visible for many miles thanks to its wonderful ‘skyrocket’ steeple (copyright Master Knott) on the edge of a small hill (=mountain in East Anglia). On my walk down the path I met the churchwarden who was delighted that I was visiting her church which she says is always kept open for visitors. OK it is a bit of Victoriana (by Phipson 1874-77) imposing itself on the Suffolk countryside, but the church is quite a size, nave, chancel and north transeptal chapel and in the local plan/style.
