Inside Holy Trinity Church, Abbots Leigh

Abbots Leigh, Inside Holy Trinity Church

The church is nothing really special, largely medieval with 19th century restoration and improvements. The one thing which the Victorians left which they more typically would have swept away however are the picturesque dormer windows which bring in much-needed light into the nave.

There are 17th century tombs and the more usual 18th century baroque hanging monuments here but the one which I have always remembered is the brass inscription Plaque to Sir Philip Miles d. 1888 under the tower, which incorporates a photograph of the corpse.
