St Michael's Church, Angersleigh
We took a wrong turning trying to reach this church, which not only took us the wrong way but directly towards two fearsome lady riders on horseback who equally had nowhere to “pull in” on this narrow road (to Trull). I managed to do a three point turn using the entrance to a field just as the ladies and their scowls appeared alongside... This is a small church - of little interest but considerable charm. Much was rebuilt in the 19th century, and the exterior is rendered (a finish I do not like). A whole host of daffodils lined the path to the door (Commentary provided by Phil Draper) |
