St Michael's Church (The Font), Betchworth

Betchworth, St Michael's Church (The Font)

The Font is post World War II and a memorial made in the fashion of the Norman fonts, a tub with four statues in niches, one of whom is the deceased airman complete with flying helmet, earphones and uniform - but no wet celery :-P  [Ed: ‘wet celery’ played a significant part in the 1980s UK TV comedy series 'Allo 'Allo, in scenes almost impossible to describe unless you've seen it...]

A photograph of the exterior of St Michael's Church (with further commentary) is also available.
