The Inscription reads:

In memory of the Reverend Hugh BAILYE, A.M
Upwards of forty years Minister of the Parish,
And Canon Residentiary of Lichfield Cathedral,
died 9th June 1833 aged 72
His wife Ann died 12th Jan 1834 aged 76
