Chirton, St John the Baptist's Church


A Norman church, although heavily restored, to the extent that one of the piers in the Norman arcades looks to be completely replaced. The main roof is supposedly original Norman work too, but we couldn't see it, the timbers/overall shape look much newer but several books mention this so perhaps it is true.
